BAGUIO CITY? The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed three new agreements with Japanese government and private sector.

The agreements were signed on September 30 at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo.

These deals will support projects in waste management, clean energy, telecommunications, and sustainable development in BCDA-managed areas.

One of the main goals, BCDA said, is to help turn New Clark City into a green and disaster-resilient city.

BCDA also signed an agreement with Japanese telecom companies IPS Inc. and InfiniVAN Inc to improve BCDA’s internet and communication systems in places like Poro Point Freeport Zone in La Union.

Another agreement is with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) to support BCDA projects that focus on clean energy and caring for the environment.

“With our Japanese partners, we’re working on projects that reduce waste, bring clean energy, improve internet access, and support sustainable growth in our communities,” said BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang. “These efforts will create jobs, attract investors, and improve life for many Filipinos.” DMS
