Palace names initial list of Cabinet members and officials to attend Senate hearing on April 10

Malacanang announced the initial list of cabinet members and other government officials who will attend the Senate committee on foreign affairs' third hearing into the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte on April 10.

In a press briefing on Monday, Palace Press Officer and Undersecretary Claire Castro said that they reconsidered their decision out of "respect" to Senate President Francis Escudero after he facilitated the communication between the executive department and Senate.

"We also respect his request provided of course that the topics

provided that those issues under the executive privilege won't be tackled", Castro added.

As of posting time, Castro said that there are no details if the Office of the Executive Secretary received the invitation yet "but the Office of the Executive provided a list of those who might attend the said hearing".

"Listed are Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla ng DOJ (Department of Justice), Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon,and Chief State Counsel Dennis Arvin Chan. We also included Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique A. Manalo, Philippines Center on Transnational Crime Executive Director Alcantara, PNP (Philippine National Police) General Rommel Francisco Marbil, General Nicolas Torre, (and) from DMW (Department of Migrant Workers) Secretary Hans Cacdac", Castro said.

"Also included are Special Envoy Markus Lacanilao, and from the SEC, RJ Bernal, and Ferdinand Loji Santiago", she added.

These were nearly the same officials who attended the first hearing called by Marcos. But in the second, none showed after the Office of the Executive Secretary invoked executive privilege in the matter, Marie Manalili/DMS
