Vice President Sara Duterte asked the Supreme Court to deny the motion for reconsideration filed by the House of Representatives last week on her impeachment complaint which the High Tribunal ruled as unconstitutional.
Duterte's lawyers said the House's motion for reconsideration were ''mere diversions obsessed with trivia and blind to the decision's genuine core reasoning,'' reported The Big Story Tuesday night.
The reply, one of Duterte's lawyers, said was filed on Monday.
The Supreme Court last July 25, with a vote of 13 for and two abstention, said the articles of impeachment on Duterte were unconstitutional as it was approved by the House last February, violating the one-year bar rule.
The House filed a motion for reconsideration on Aug. 4 while the Senate, which was to hear the articles of impeachment, archived these pending the High Tribunal's reply to the Lower Chamber's appeal. DMS
