Marcos issues proclamation declaring regular holidays, special non-working days for 2026

The list of holidays for 2026 under Proclamation 1006 (Presidential Communications Office)

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. issued Proclamation No. 1006 declaring the regular holidays and special (non-working) days for the year 2025.

According to the President’s proclamation signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Sept 3, the following regular holidays and special days for the year 2025 shall be observed in the country:

Regular Holidays:

New Year’s Day – 1 January (Thursday)

Maundy Thursday – 2 April

Good Friday – 3 April

Araw ng Kagitingan – 9 April (Thursday)

Labor Day – 1 May (Friday)

Independence Day – 12 June (Friday)

National Heroes Day – 31 August (Last Monday of August)

Bonifacio Day – 30 November (Monday)

Christmas Day – 25 December (Friday)

Rizal Day – 30 December (Wednesday)

Special (Non-Working) Days:

Ninoy Aquino Day – 21 August (Friday)

All Saints Day – 1 November (Sunday)

Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary – 8 December (Tuesday)

Last Day of the Year – 31 December (Thursday)

Special (Working) Day:

EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary – 25 February (Wednesday)

Additional Special (Non-Working) Days:

Chinese New Year – 17 January (Tuesday)

Black Saturday – 4 April

All Souls’ Day – 2 November (Monday)

Christmas Eve – 24 December (Wednesday)

The proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha will be issued after the approximate dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar (Hijra) or the lunar calendar, or upon Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is applicable.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos will recommend to the President the actual dates on which these holidays will respectively fall.

The proclamation has tasked the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to issue the implementing guidelines for the proclamation, which is expected to take effect immediately. Presidential News Desk
