An Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will bring cloudy skies and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and parts of Mindanao this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Friday afternoon.
From Friday to Sunday afternoon, 50 to 100 millimeters (mm) of rainfall will be experienced on Davao Oriental, Davao De Oro, Davao Occidental, Surigao Del Sur, Agusan Del Sur, and Sarangani, based on the latest weather advisory.
Davao Del Sur, Surigao Del Norte, Dinagat Island, Bukidnon, and South Cotabato are forecasted to experience 50 to 100 mm of rainfall only from Friday to Saturday afternoon.
The southwest monsoon will affect Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte, but it might weaken in the next hours.
"We expect that possibly, in the next hours, the rains affecting the extreme Northern Luzon due to Southwest Monsoon will be weaker," Weather Specialist Loriedin De La Cruz-Galicia stated in the forecast.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be affected by the Easterlies with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Kate Christian Ravelo/DMS
