Comelec proclaims Metro Manila mayoral winners

Less than a day after the 2025 midterm polls concluded, several local candidates were proclaimed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) city board of canvassers in several cities of Metro Manila on Tuesday.

In Makati City, outgoing Senator Nancy Binay was proclaimed as mayor around 1 pm, garnering 114,898 votes against her brother- in-law Makati Rep. Luis Campos with 85,664 votes.

In Manila, Isko Moreno has yet to be proclaimed as mayor but news reports said Mayor Honey Lacuna has conceded. As of 7 pm, Moreno had 529, 940 while Lacuna had 190, 501.

Incumbent Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto won his third and final term as mayor.

Sotto was declared the official winner after results showed he got 286,897 votes while his rival Sarah Discaya got 24,163 votes.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte was proclaimed winner at around 11 am. Belmonte had 1,040,730 while her running mate, Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, garnered 933,00 votes to win. Belmonte will serve her third and final term as the city mayor.

Maan Teodoro was proclaimed mayor of Marikina in an upset over Congresswoman Stella Quimbo, but Teodoro's husband and outgoing mayor Marcelino will have to hurdle an election protest to be named congressman by Comelec.

Meanwhile, serving his second term as Caloocan City Mayor is Along Malapitan after garnering 266,732 votes defeating former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV with 175, 291 votes. Malapitan's running mate, Karina Teh, has also been proclaimed as the vice mayor.

Jeannie Sandoval won her second term as mayor in Malabon with 92, 621 votes against Jaye Noel-Lacson with 50,409 votes, based on 77.42 percent election returns as of 7 am. She was proclaimed as mayor past 6 am.

Also serving his second term as mayor in San Juan is Francis Zamora. Zamora got 43,894 votes against Philip Cezar who got 6,309 votes in a battle between former basketball players.

In Valenzuela City, Wes Gatchalian will continue his term as mayor after running unopposed with 218,612 votes.

April Aguilar has been proclaimed as the mayor of Las Pinas. Aguilar got 89,724 votes as of the 80.5 percent of election returns around 7 am. Her mother, Imelda Aguilar, won as the vice mayor with 94,427 votes. Marie Manalili/DMS
