Sara urges Filipinos to ''vote straight'' PDP Laban senatorial bets on May 12

Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday called on the public to vote the senatorial candidates of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) Laban who will continue the platform of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

The 2025 midterm national selections will be held on May 12.

Speaking at the PDP Laban's miting de avance Thursday night at Liwasang Bonifacio, she said: ''This Monday let's vote straight and let us all save the Philippines. "

Duterte also announced that she will vote for re-electionist Senator Imee Marcos and Las Pinas Rep. Camille Villar to the Senate.

The senatorial bets of the Duterte backed PDP-Laban were introduced by Senator Robin Padilla in the opening of the miting de avance.

In his speech, re-electionist Senator Bong Go, who leads various election surveys, called on the public to vote all the PDP-Laban senatorial bets, also known as "DuterTen".

Only Go and another re-electionist Senator, Ronald Dela Rosa, are in the Magic 12 of the surveys. With a strong chance to enter the Magic 12 are Villar and Marcos, partly due to endorsements of Duterte, and Sagip Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta in one survey.

"To my fellow countrymen, if you love tatay Digong (former President Rodrigo Duterte), if you love the Philippines please help DuterTen", Go said.

Around 2,000 as of 7 pm were reported by the Ermita Police Station to be present in the miting de avance.

The bets under PDP-Laban are Go, Dela Rosa, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Marcoleta, artist Jimmy Bondoc, actor Philip Salvador, Jayvee Hinlo, Raul Lambino, Doc Marites Mata, former Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez. Marie Manalili/ DMS
