The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Saturday ordered the preventive suspension of 270 buses of the Pangasinan Solid North Transit Inc. (PSNTI) for 30 days following the deadly crash involving one of its buses on the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) last Thursday.

In an interview with Daily Manila Shimbun, Ariel Inton, spokesperson of the LTFRB said that the preventive suspension was ordered by Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon during a close-door meeting with LTFRB, Land Transportation Office (LTO), and bus companies on Friday.

“The suspension of the PSNTI buses is only temporary, expected to last for not more than 30 days depending on the decision of the board,” Inton said.

The 270 buses of the PSNTI commonly ply routes to and from Pangasinan, Baguio, Dagupan, and other locations north of Manila.

In response to the preventive suspension, the bus company released an official statement saying that they will comply with the directive of the Department of Transportation.

“For its patrons, unless otherwise provided, all trips of PSNTI are temporarily suspended,” the company said.

PSNTI also said that passengers who booked tickets in advance may request for cancellation. Yzabela Velez-White/DMS
