President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with Manila City Mayor Francisco Domagoso in Malacanang on Friday to discuss collaboration between the national government and the city government in implementing legacy projects in the country’s capital, including housing, bridges, transportation, and urban redevelopment initiatives.

Marcos discussed with Domagoso areas of cooperation to push forward priority infrastructure projects that will affect Manila, including the North and South Harbor Bridge, the retrofitting of the Lambingan Bridge, and the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR), and the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) pipe laying project in Pandacan which would strengthen the water supply infrastructure in the area.

Other priority initiatives of Marcos where the cooperation of the Manila city government will be vital, include the Greater Metro Manila Waterways Cleaning and Clearing Operations, and the Bayanihan sa Estero Program.

The discussion also covered strengthening infrastructure project monitoring, reaching out to families in street situations and ensuring their inclusion in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and other programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), as well as conducting public information campaigns for major national government programs, including the National Immunization Program and National ID registration.
