A Chinese man who was said to have shot to death a compatriot in Makati City in October in 2024 and reportedly involved in the kidnapping of a Chinese student last February was arrested in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi Saturday.
Wang Dan Yu, also known as Bao Long, was on a speed boat when he was arrested by police intelligence operatives off the waters of Barangay Nalil around 12:30 a.m.’
Authorities have been looking for Wang after he reportedly shot fellow Chinese Liu Jiabin in a hotpot restaurant in Makati on Oct. 17. The government even put up a P2 million bounty for his arrest.
He is also said to be involved in the kidnapping of a 14-year-old student at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig in February.
Police officers served a copy of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Ruth Pasion-Ramos of the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 59 for murder against Wang.
Wang was brought to the Bongao municipal police station for documentation. DMS
