The House of Representatives assured Tuesday that it will not "provide reason for any delay" on the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte amid the return of the articles of impeachment back by the Senate, sitting as an impeachment court, to the House.
"I assure the public that the House prosecution panel will not be or not provide reason for any delay in the impeachment trial", newly appointed House prosecution panel spokesperson Antonio Bucoy said in a press briefing on Tuesday.
Bucoy said that the prosecution will file or present appropriate pleading required by the Senate "within the next few days".
"It could be a motion or it could be a manifestation either way it is to clarify the order (of the Senate)", Bucay added.
Meanwhile, Bucoy said that his appointment as the spokesperson of the House prosecution panel for the impeachment against Duterte is for free and for the country.
Bucoy graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 1984. He was a member of the Movement of Attorneys for Brotherhood, Integrity and Nationalism (MABINI) and the Free Legal Assistance Group (FLAG). Marie Manalili/DMS
