Personal remittances to the Philippines continued to grow in April of this year as remittances from both land-based and sea-based Overseas Filipinos (OFs) increased, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said Monday.
Filipinos abroad sent $2.97 billion in personal remittances in April 2025, up by 4.1 percent from the $2.86 billion recorded in April 2024
Of the personal remittances from OFs, cash remittances coursed through banks reached $2.66 billion in April 2025, up by 4 percent from the $2.56 billion registered in April 2024.
Cumulative cash remittances reached $11.11 billion in January-April 2025, marking a 3 percent increase from the $10.78 billion recorded in January-April 2024.
In January-April 2025, cumulative personal remittances rose by 3. percent from the $12.01 billion registered in January-April 2024 to $12.37 billion.
Higher growth of remittances from the United States, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates drove the overall increase in remittances during January-April 2025.
By country source, the US accounted for the largest share of total cash remittances in January-April 2025, followed by Singapore and Saudi Arabia. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
