Cop wounded, six drug suspects arrested in Cainta buy-bust operation

A policeman was wounded while six drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Rizal province on Saturday morning.

Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, Calabarzon regional police director, said the wounded policeman was PO3 Allan Sinampan.

Eleazar said based on initial report authorities were conducting anti-illegal drugs buy-bust operation when an unidentified suspect riding a motorcycle fired against the operatives in the vicinity of Barangay San Andres, Cainta around 3:30 am.

“When the poseur buyer gave the pre-arranged signal to the other operatives and they are about to arrest the suspects, one unidentified suspect riding a motorcycle armed with unidentified firearm coming from behind randomly fired the operatives,” he said.

Eleazar said Sinampan sustained gunshot wound on his left leg.

“The operatives were not able to retaliate because of the nearby houses that the suspect was able to escape,” he said.

Eleazar said government operatives arrested six drug suspects identified as Joenard Borja, John Carlos Vertudez, Oscar Litab, Mark Renniel, Fabby Lora and Gemma Oliva during the operation.

He said the police confiscated 26 pieces of heat shield transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one unsealed plastic sachet, one aluminum foil strip, two rolled aluminum foil serving as tooter, one disposable lighter, five black coin purse and one piece of 500 peso bill that was used as buy bust money.
