The Duterte administration will push for over 10 priority measures under the present Congress, Malacanang said on Wednesday.

The proposed measures were among those discussed in the Cabinet meeting, which President Rodrigo Duterte presided over in Malacanang.

The departments of justice, foreign affairs, national defense, information and communication technology, and finance want amendments for Republic Act No. 9372 or the Human Security Act of 2007; RA 10168 or the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012; and RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

The administration will also ask Congress to pass the Whistleblower Protection Bill, and Witness Protection Program, creation of a Department of Overseas Filipinos, Bangsamoro Basic Law, Right-Sizing the Bureaucracy, Budget Reform Bill, Reduced Individual and Corporate Income Tax, Tax on Fuel, Sugary Products, Adjustment in Sin Tax, and National Defense Act.

According to Presidential Communications Office Secretary Martin Andanar, other highlights of the fifth Cabinet meeting were a study on small town lottery, proposed Cabinet clustering, and implementation of the Freedom on Information Executive Order.

Also discussed were results of the social development initiative summit, updates on the Paris Agreement, Science and Technology Priority programs, and updates on the anti-drug media campaign roll-out, among others, he said. Celerina Monte/DMS
