A tropical storm named ''Quedan'' at the northeastern part of extreme Northern Luzon has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Thursday.
Quedan. with international name "Nakri", had maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It was last spotted at 1,370 km east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.
The tropical storm was moving north northwestward at the speed of 30kph.
According to the state weather bureau, ''Quedan'' which is expected to move generally northwestward may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility Thursday night or early morning Friday.
"Quedan is unlikely to affect the sea condition in the coastal waters of the country," it stated.
"This weather disturbance is forecast to continue intensifying while approaching Ryukyu Island (in Japan)," it added. Robina Asido/DMS
