President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said his productive four-day work visit in Osaka will generate new jobs and provide the country access to technologies.

"We return inspired to continue building a Bagong Pilipinas that delivers more jobs, more investments, and more opportunities for every Filipino," Marcos said in his speech released by Malacanang after he arrived at 5:55 pm last Sunday.

Marcos said he met with officials of Kanadevia Corp., who have committed to build their Manila Waste-to-Energy (WtE) project with Phil. Ecology Systems Corp. (PhilEco), which will help the country manage its waste and generate clean energy.

As for the representatives of Tsuneishi Group, which he also met in Osaka, he said they will push through building the first methanol dual-fuelled bulk carrier in its Cebu facility.

The President said the production of the new ship will create more jobs and position the country "as a leader in green shipping."

The visit, he said, also allowed him to talk with Japanese tourism leaders, who have said they will be sending more Japanese visitors to the country.

Marcos also met officials of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency to discuss cooperation in tapping space technology to enhance disaster monitoring, support farmers, and strengthen community safety.

He also visited the Philippine Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 and met with the Philippine community in Osaka.

He arrived in Osaka on June 19. Marcos was invited by Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba last April to attend the 2025 World Expo. DMS
