President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will leave for a five-day state visit to India, the Palace announced Thursday.

Marcos will be in India from August 4 to 8 to attend meetings and events in New Delhi and Bangalore.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Marcos and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have a bilateral talk on August 5. Marcos will also be meeting with other Indian officials, including Indian President Smt. Droupadi Murmu and External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar

Marcos will also meet with the Filipino community in New Delhi.

"He will meet with the business sectors in both cities (New Delhi and Bangalore)," the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said.

Modi extended the invitation to the chief executive through India External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar when he met Marcos in March 2024.

The Philippines and India are celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
