The Philippine Embassy in Israel has convened its crisis management team to examine its contigency plan if tension in the area will increase following Iran's retaliation to Israel.

In a TV interview, Philippine Ambassador to Israel Aileen Mendiola-Rau said the team met Friday to buy goods that can be prepositioned in select locations. She added that the team examined the condition of the shelters.

''We have been experiencing continuous barrage of missiles,'' she said.

With the airspace in Israel and Jordan closed, the ambassador said no aircraft can take off.

''We are looking at other possibilities in case the situation worsens. We are coming out with plans to bring our people out not by air but probably by land towards Jordan or Egypt. We are also considering repatriation by sea,'' added Rau.

On Friday, Israel fired missiles at Iran, targetting its nuclear facilities. Hours later, Iran retaliated similar attacks to Israel. DMS
