Two Grade 8 students were allegedly stabbed dead by schoolmates outside their school in Las Pinas City on Friday night.

In a radio interview, Philippine National Police (PNP) Las Pinas chief Sandro Jay Tafalla said the incident happened 100 meters from the school at 7 pm last Friday.

The suspects and victims had a misunderstanding in the comfort room of their school at 4 pm.

"Due to one group's switching on and off the light (in the comfort room), the other became irritated and then they fought with each other," Tafalla said.

Three children in conflict with the law were behind this incident, aged 14, 15, and 16, were surrendered by their parents to the authorities.

"Sinamahan sila ng magulang nila sa pag-uusap sa rating kapulisan, they were interviewed...at nilahad nila do'n kung anong nangyari talaga," Tafalla said.

In a separate interview, National Association of Public Secondary School Heads, Inc. (NAPSSHI) President Dr. Rolando Dela Cruz was saddened about the incident.

"It hurts in the field of the head teachers that these (cases) are happening, especially with our students, who we should be an example of showing right conduct," Dela Cruz said.

The suspects are under the custody of Bahay Pag-asa of the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD).
