The operation of the Edsa bus carousel will continue despite the planned rehabilitation of Edsa in March.

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said in a press conference Monday that the department has had initial meetings with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)with the start of the EDSA rehabilitation this month.

“There will be adjustments where there are construction activities, but the Edsa busway won't cease operations,” Dizon said.

The Edsa Carousel covers 28 kilometers of Metro Manila's most important highway with 23 bus stops in six cities.

Fifteen bus stops from Monumento to Roxas Boulevard will be affected by the proposed rehabilitation program.

Dizon also said that the transportation and public highways departments will hold another meeting with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and the affected local government units (LGUs) on the rehabilitation program.

The transportation department also plans to rehabilitate the EDSA Busway along with the Edsa rehabilitation.

Public works NCR director Lorie Malaluan said in a radio interview last Saturday that the rehabilitation program will start with the EDSA bus lane. Yzabela Velez-White/DMS
