Seven persons were injured in a fire that razed 100 residential houses in Las Pinas City on Monday.
In a phone interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun, Fire Officer 1 Eucris Andrea Cruz said four of seven injured individuals were aged four to 17 years old.
Six sustained first-degree burns while one sustained an abrasion. Cruz said that the emergency medical services unit of the Las Pinas' Bureau of Fire Protection treated these patients with first aid.
The blaze in the residential area owned by informal settlers in Barangay Almanza Uno, Las Pinas City which started at 12:11 pm reached its highest third alarm at 12:24 pm before being placed under control at 1:15 pm and declared fire out at 2:53 pm.
Three hundred families or 1,200 individuals were affected by the incident with damage to properties estimated at P375,000. Kate Christian Ravelo/DMS
