Villar leads Comelec partial canvass

Re-electionist Senator Cynthia Villar topped the Commission of Elections (Comelec) partial canvass on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Comelec convened as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) around 2 pm.

As of 9 pm, NBOC received 34 certificate of canvass from six overseas country and 28 local cities, municipalities, provinces.

These certificates of canvass came from Mandaluyong City, Las Pinas City, Lapu-Lapu City, Athens, Greece; Makati City, Singapore, Camiguin, Marinduque, Agusan Del Norte, Ilocos Norte, Sorsogon, Bahrain, Muntinlupa City, Iligan City, Southern Leyte, Zambales, San Juan City, Iloilo, Qatar, Quezon City, Ifugao, Brunei, Benguet, Occidental Mindoro, Dinagat Islands, Pasay City, Mountain Province, Baguio City, South Korea, Biliran, Capiz, Manila, Negros Oriental and Nueva Vizcaya.

According to Comelec, the first area to transmit their COC’s based on their audit log is Mandaluyong City at around 11:17 pm of May 13.

Of the 34 canvassed areas, Villar got 4,092,454 votes, followed by re-electionist Senator Grace Poe with 3,650,288, former Special Adviser to the President Christoper ''Bong'' Go with 3,293,341, Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano with 3,251,819 and former Philippine National Police ( PNP) chief Ronald Dela Rosa with 3,128,061 at fifth place.

Re-electionist Senator Sonny Angara is sixth with 3,022,955 votes; Ilocos Norte Gov Imee Marcos with 2,850,643, former presidential adviser Francis Tolentino with 2,584,833, former Senator Lito Lapid with 2,520,316 and SenatorKoko Pimentel with 2,439,571.

Re-electionist senators Nancy Binay were 11th with 2,366,035 votes, and Bam Aquino 12th with 2,335,724.

At 13th spot is re-electionist Senator JV Ejercito with 2,292, 264 votes, former Senator Bong Revilla with 1, 994, 438 and former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, 15th with 1, 669, 311.
