President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday led the swearing-in rites for former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, retired General Benjamin Acorda Jr., who took his oath as undersecretary of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) in Malacanan Palace.
A graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1991, Acorda served as the 29th PNP chief from April 2023 to April 2024.
Acorda replaced Gilbert Cruz who took office in January 2023.
The PAOCC, established under Executive Order No. 295 series of 2000, is mandated to investigate and prosecute criminal syndicates and corrupt officials.
Its functions include conducting intelligence operations and developing anti-crime action plans. Presidential News Desk
