The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Saturday raised an alert regarding possible flooding in several areas of Metro Manila due to Typhoon Nando.
A total of 939 barangays in the National Capital Region (NCR) are expected to be affected by flooding, based on the NDRRMC advisory as of Saturday afternoon, September 20, 2025.
The barangays expected to be affected are:
1. Muntinlupa, 8 barangays
2. Taguig, 2 barangays
3. Manila, 594 barangays
4. Mandaluyong, 9 barangays
5. Marikina, 16 barangays
6. Pasig, 1 barangay
7. San Juan, 18 barangays
8. Quezon City, 127 barangays
9. Caloocan, 92 barangays
10. Malabon, 21 barangays
11. Navotas, 18 barangays, and
12. Valenzuela, 33 barangays.
The NDRRMC met on Saturday to discuss measures that need to be taken in preparation for the impact of Typhoon Nando, which is forecast to intensify into a super typhoon on Monday as it nears the Babuyan Islands in the northernmost part of the country.
The meeting was presided by Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., who chairs the NDRRMC. Presidential News Desk
