A councilor went to the office of his vice mayor at a municipal hall in Aklan province and shot him dead Friday morning, police said.

Police said witnesses related that the councilor, named Mihrel Senatin, the town hall office and asked the staff of Ibajay Vice Mayor Julio Estolloso for copies of ordinances passed during his term.

Based on witnesses, Senatin approached Estolloso and asked: “ What wrong have I done to you?”.

The suspect pulled out a gun and shot Estolloso without provocation.

Estolloso succumbed from a gunshot wound to the chest around 10:23 am in a hospital.

Senatin was arrested in his house which is around 200 meters away from the municipal hall. DMS
