Makati City police recovered a stolen watch of a Japanese national after arresting two individuals after an entrapment operation on Sunday.

Police identified the victims as "Marcos Duenas Jr. y De Guzmaz", 33, a Barangay Kagawad, and "Mark Anthony Duenas y De Guzmaz", 40, after the victim, 53, a Japanese national reported to authorities that he saw his stolen watch being sold at Facebook Marketplace which that prompted an entrapment operation.

The report came after police arrested a suspect identified as, "Jomari", 29, on April 15 following a reported theft of a luxury watch worth around P200,000 inside a residential condominium in Makati.

Based on the police report, the victim "personally appeared at the IDMS office. He claimed that his vintage Rolex watch, which was stolen on April 14, was being sold at the marketplace by ascertain @ Marcos".

The suspects were arrested after confirmation from the victim who pretended to be a buyer of the Rolex watch worth P110,000 after agreeing to meet the suspects in a mall located at Caloocan City.

Capt. Wilfredo Alvarez Jr., Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Investigation and Detective Management, said the Japanese victim refused to file a case against the suspects and signed "an affidavit of disinterest in filing a complaint against the suspects, stating that due to a lack of material time that they could not attend possible future hearings".

Due to the victim's disinterest in filing a case the suspects were released and were turned over to Barangay 52, Zone 5 in Caloocan. Marie Manalili/DMS
