Premier's wife visits prosthetics and orthotics company

2025/4/30 英字

Yoshiko Ishiba, spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan, on Tuesday, visited a prosthetics and orthotic clinic in the Philippines that uses Japanese technology.

Instalimb Solutions Philippine Inc., located in Centuria Medical Makati, whose head office is in Japan, sells affordable and high quality below the knee 3D printed prosthetic legs.

The Prime Minister's wife was accompanied by Akiko Endo, spouse of the Ambassador of Japan to the Philippines, and Instalimb Philippines Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yutaka Tokushima.

Ishiba and Endo then had a brief conversation with Mark Llames, 26, who lost his right leg due to a road accident in 2021. Llames has been using his prosthetic leg from Instalimb for almost three years now.

The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines said that the visit aims to "serve awareness about the importance of prosthetics, continued mobility, and rehabilitation for individuals who have limb differences". Marie Manalili/DMS
