Seven died while 19 others were injured in a vehicular accident on Boac, Marinduque on Saturday morning.

In a phone interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun, Polic e Lieutenant Mario Bermejo said the accident happened along National Road in Barangay Bantay in Boac when the passenger jeepney lost control of its brakes and hit a tree.

The casualties, included a 16-year-old minor and an 83-year-old. Six individuals were declared dead on arrival. An 11-year-old passenger was brought to the Lucena United Doctors Hospital and Medical Center (LUDHMC) but died early Sunday.

Meanwhile, among 19 injured, four individuals are senior citizen, while 13 others are minors ages three to seventeen years old.

Five injured are at the LUDHMC while the rest are at the Marinduque Provincial Hospital.

The driver will undergo inquest on Monday. Kate Christian Ravelo/DMS
