More than 60,000 dengue cases have been reported in the Philippines despite a slowdown in recent weeks, the Department of Health (DOH) said Tuesday.

In a statement, the DOH reported that 62,313 dengue cases were logged from January 1 to March 1, which is 73 percent higher compared to the same period in 2024.

Calabarzon is the region with the highest number of dengue cases with 12,735 cases, followed by 11,291 in the National Capital Region, and 10,185 in Central Luzon.

Last month, the DOH observed a surge in dengue cases due to an unusual amount of increased rain during the January-February period. It expects cases to surge during the rainy season. DMS
