Riding-in-tandem suspects victimize Japanese nationals in two separate robbery incidents in the cities of Taguig and Makati this week.
In an advisory issued by the Japanese Embassy in the Philippines on Thursday, the Embassy reported the first incident at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) last Wednesday.
The advisory shows that a suspect armed with a gun forcibly took the bag of two among the four Japanese nationals who were walking along 25th Street near 10th Avenue in BGC around 10:40 pm.
Shortly after that, another robbery incident occurred along Jupiter Street in the Bel Air District. An armed suspect also took the bag of one of the two Japanese nationals while walking near Polaris Street around 12:15 am.
In both incidents, the suspects armed with a gun fled using a single motorcycle driven by other perpetrators.
Following these incidents, the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines asks all Japanese nationals residing in the Philippines, as well as tourists and business travelers, to maintain a high level of crime prevention awareness. Robina Asido/DMS
