The trough of the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) in the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Quezon, Aurora, and the Bicol Region, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported on Monday.
A low-pressure area in the PAR was monitored 920 kilometers east of Central Luzon as of 3 pm.
In a 5pm forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said the LPA has a low chance of becoming a tropical depression in the next 24 to 48 hours.
The southwest monsoon, on the other hand, will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Metro Manila, Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, and the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon.
Localized thunderstorms will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms to the rest of Luzon.
Based on the Monday thunderstorm and rainfall advisories, Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds were experienced by 20 provinces in Luzon and Visayas, while moderate to occasionally heavy rains downpoured in Mindanao as of 5:00 pm. Kate Christian Ravelo/DMS
