South Korean shot dead in Baguio

A South Korean man was shot dead by an unidentified gunman in Baguio City over the weekend.

Jeo Jue Seo, 51, was driving his Honda CRV with his Filipina partner when the gunman shot him several times from the side of the road.

A police report said the incident happened around 7 am along a road in Barangay Upper Pinget.

An initial investigation revealed Jeo, a creditor, was on his way home to Dreamland Subdivision in La Trinidad town, Benguet when he was attacked.

The victim was brought to Pines City Doctor's Hopital in Baguio but was pronounced dead at 8:15 am from multiple gunshot wounds on the head and body.

A deformed slug from an unknown caliber was found at the emergency room of the hospital.

The Korean's partner, Chriso Joy Perez, survived with multiple abrasions on her left thigh after she was hit by shrapnel from the broken windshield of the vehicle.

Police have created a Special Investigation Task Group to probe Seo's death and to find the gunman.

This month, three South Koreans were found dead with gunshot wounds in Bacolor town, Pampanga.

They are Sim Tae So, 48, Park Yungpil, 47 and a female, Maeng Jungyeon, 48.

The victims sustained gunshot wounds on the head. Their feet were tied with packaging tape. Emmanuel Tupas/DMS
