Without any questions asked, the Senate approved the proposed P889 million 2026 budget of the Office of the Vice President on Thursday.
The OVP's budget was restored to P889 million after it was cut by the House of Representatives to P733.198 million.
During the plenary session that was attended by Vice President Sara Duterte, Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito moved to close the period of interpellation of the proposed budget of the OVP.
It was approved by Senate President Vicente Sotto III after no senators objected.
In his manifestation of support, Senator Robin Padilla expressed his gratitude to the chamber for restoring the proposed budget of the OVP.
"In my experience, whenever there is a calamity, sadness, or death, our Vice President is always there to sympathize and help. Wherever we go in the Philippines, we can see the Office of our Vice President and she herself goes to places that haven't been reached by any public official," he said. Robina Asido/DMS
