The Metro Manila Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3 offers a free ride for National Identification (ID) card holders every Wednesday four times in August.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Wednesday announced that the free ride will be offered by MRT Line 3 from 9 am to 11 am, and from 6 pm to 8 pm starting today, then on Aug. 13, Aug, 20, at Aug. 27.

The passenger will only have to present the physical card, printed paper, or digital copy version of their National ID to the security or service gate personnel in every MRT Line 3 station to avail the free ride.

The agency noted that the free ride is in line with the objective of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr's to promote the use of the National ID for faster delivery of public services. Robina Asido/DMS
