The alleged copy of the warrant of arrest against Senator Ronald Dela Rosa was acquired by Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla from a "third party" and not directly from the International Criminal Court (ICC).
This was revealed by Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla in a radio interview on Wednesday.
"We just talked on the telephone. He told me he got the electronic copy from a third source. So, it's not from the ICC, but in form and in function, it looks official," he said.
Remulla noted that the copy of the warrant of arrest that the Ombudsman had right now is not an "actionable document" yet.
"As far as we are concerned if you are within the security apparatus, there is a need for an actionable document, the official copy should be sent," he said.
Remulla refused to give details on how the warrant of arrest will be implemented in case an actionable document or an official copy will be received by the agency.
