Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio tested positive for mild COVID-19, her office said in a Facebook post Saturday night.

''She has mild symptoms and is in isolation caring for other family members who need medical attention in Davao City. '' it said.

''Everyone who came in close contact with Mayor Sara in the last 14 days is hereby advised to self-monitor for symptoms and get RT-PCR tested five to seven days from your contact with her.'' it added.

Duterte-Carpio was on leave as mayor from October 5-8. It was not known what was her purpose, but it was speculated that she will substitute for a presidential candidate.

On Friday, Duterte-Carpio said she will concentrate on running Davao City for a final three-year term and not seek the presidency. DMS
