A policeman assigned at the Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG) in Camp Crame died in a road accident in Quezon City on Saturday morning.

Chief Superintendent Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, Quezon City police director, said based on initial report the incident occurred in front of Variant Security Training Center along Col. Bonny Serrano Avenue near corner of 3rd Avenue in Brgy. Bagong Lipunan in Camp Crame around 6:25 am.

Eleazar said the victim identified as PO3 Nasrudin Banto was onboard a single motorcycle when its left side portion was hit by a Honda city vehicle driven by certain Jacquiline Yu, 35, an online retailer and resident of Dapitan st. in Brgy. Lourdes, Quezon City.

“Due to the force of impact, complainant was thrown at the front windshield of suspect vehicle and sustained fatal injury,” he said.

Eleazar said the victim was rushed to PNP General Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival around 6:30 am.

After the incident, Yu was placed under police custody for investigation and proper disposition. Robina Asido/DMS
