MANILA ム Philippine officials are still trying to find out the cause of the blast that struck a unit in the fifth floor of an upscale apartment in Taguig City.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II on Saturday said: メItユs significant but insuffi-cient to outright deter-mine that there is no bomb.モ

Three persons were killed when the retain-ing wall of the unit fell on their van.

2Serendra, a plush apartment, is at Boni-facio Global City where some foreign embassies are located.

Residents at 2 Seren-dra have been evacu-ated to hotels until the investigation finishes.

President Benigno Aquino III, who went to the scene of the explo-sion with Roxas Friday evening, said he wants a thorough probe.

In a press conference near the site of the ex-plosion, Roxas said in-vestigators are looking for clues.

メWe canユt say at this time what caused the explosion. We will check all the forensic evidence,モ he told re-porters.

Roxas disclosed that investigators have not found any メpositive indication of fumes or burnsモ which might indicate the explosion was triggered by a bomb.
